EXIT THROUGH THE BODY
(Speaking Lecture on Building Sustainable Futures through Power of Dance)
With over 15 years in contemporary dance education, performance, and choreography, I am passionate about exploring dance's transformative impact on social sustainability. My work delves into the cultural importance of dance floors as spaces for growth in body awareness, self-expression, and fostering meaningful human connections. Dance floors are more than physical spaces—they are vibrant social ecosystems where bodies learn to break from patterned behaviors, explore radical self-expression, and engage in collective emotional experiences.
In my lectures, I ask: What becomes possible when we listen deeply to our bodies together? How can we cultivate spaces that foster rich, ecological systems of collective feeling and interpersonal growth?
Imagining the principles of the dance floor applied to workplace culture, I advocate for decentralized power and a focus on cultivating bodily intelligence to deepen interpersonal connections. Dance floor wisdom can be transformative in workplace settings, enhancing community, belonging, self-fulfillment, empowerment, and overall well-being. Sharing movement together fosters a richer, more sensitive approach to human interaction and collaboration.
As a drag performer and community builder, I integrate insights from dancefloor spaces into my work with corporate and community environments, sharing the powerful potential of dance to build resilient, sustainable communities. I’ve presented this vision at major festivals and summits, including The House of Beautiful Business, The Do Summit, NEXT Conference, and Bock Auf Morgen Festival, bringing forward the values of empowerment, inclusivity, and collective care.
My lectures and workshops are an invitation to see dance not just as performance but as a tool for meaningful social impact and cultural enrichment.
